Gianluca,

The fact that it was compiled against 2.4.x kernel headers doesn't affect those packages. Also, in my experience, there is no issue using those binary packages with bins that you've built via snapgear with a different toolchain and libraries. I realize some people have run into issues mixing bins built with different libs but this is simply a library bug and not an issue in general.

And, to answer you question more clearly: I use a 2.6.x kernel with those packages and have for some time without any issues.

Tim

Subject: [Avila] Hi Tim,

I'm changed to kernel 2.6, what about the NSLU2 package you sent me in the other
mail? It's an "unslug" (unfortunately not Openslug which is for kernel 2.6)
version and so it has been cross compiled for kernel 2.4. Do you think it is
usable also with kernel 2.6?

And, sorry ... :-), what about the library libxml2, I downloaded it from the
Unslug site with the same kernel 2.4 problem ...

Thanks in advance.
Gianluca
