[Avila] netflash update question

The current redboot that is on the GW BSP CD checks the checksum of the image against a checksum in the FIS directory. Therefore, if you flash a partition outside of redboot (such as you are with netflash in linux) this checksum will fail. You need to rebuild redboot with FIS checksum disabled. I don't know of any existing code that will update the FIS partition checksum within linux.

Subject: [Avila] netflash update question
Subject: [Avila] Hi,
I have tried to update ramdisk file system on the flash by netflash under
Linux prompt. Everything went normal but when I rebooted redboot complained
about "ROM Checksum Error" and also I noticed that the filesystem was
corrupt ( kernel was able to mount it but some symbolic links ..etc. were
disappeared)
I have called netflash similar to the following
netflash -knrb /dev/mtd2 tftp_server /tftpboot/image.gz
Any ideas what may have caused this issue?
Also is there a way in snapgear that I can combine the kernel and root file
system images into a single image and use that instead.
Thanks,
Ahmet
