I am still running with it but I suspect that we might not need it 
anymore.  I am going to look into it a bit further to be sure.  I was 
able to reproduce the original error message pretty easily by creating a 
loop on my network.  For example, bridge two ethernet ports together and 
then plug them into the same lan.  In my case it was an ethernet port 
and a wireless WDS connection to another device with an ethernet port on 
the same lan.  I will let folks know when I get around to testing this 
without my patch.
