I use linux kernel 2.6.18 (with Debian distribution); I'm not using
snapgear kernel!!!

The problem I have is hwclock will never come out (hangs) after the
message=0D

"/dev/rtc does not have interrupt functions. Waiting in loop for time
from /dev/rtc to change"

You don't say what kernel you're using; I presume the snapgear
packaged one. I'm using 2.6.21-rc5-git9, which worked fine after the
addition of the I2C address to the RTC driver. I still get the
message, though:

hwclock --debug
