[Avila] version 4.9 hostapd caused Oops and segmentation fault on Gatwork 2348

We ran into hostapd problems and madwifi problems.  WPA didn't totally 
work for all laptops until we fixed both.

I don't know what part of hostapd fixed this. 
http://madwifi.org/ticket/552 suggests it was some changes in the 0.5.x 
path after 0.5.2.  I also needed the patches from 
http://madwifi.org/ticket/914 to avoid segfaults and oops problems.

Last I checked, Gateworks does not provide a newer madwifi although 
there have been several discussions on the list about upgrading it. 
http://lists.unixstudios.net/avila/2006/11/649 is one thread about it.
