I use a gw2348 with 2.6.18.4 and one of the earlier open source drivers (never made it to mainline),
http://www.hohnstaedt.de/ixp_npe/ , version 2.1. I found the IAL horrible and dumped it. For TCP iperf sending from the
avila to a pc I get around 90 mbps and 88 mbps when the avila is receiving. 60 mbps sounds kind of low to me.
